Is 25C too weak for modern RC cars?
If your Lipo pack is 25C ~ 30C, powering a stock 540 (or anything up to 23T) shouldn’t be a problem. For brushless, a 17.5T without aggressive gearing would still be ok.
Tamiya TD4 using standard servo
If you use standard size steering servo on the TD4, the body shell must have an opening to allow for smooth steering horn movement.
How bad can a RC track be?
The photos show a tiny RC track designed by the government officials in Hong Kong. This track is located under the bridge in the Wan Chai District. It is so small that even a regular 1:10 with a stock silver can be too fast for it. The average track width is less than 4 feet… […]
Yokomo BD7 with Kyosho shell
The BD7 line evolved into the Yokomo BD8, BD9, and currently the BD11 and BD12 platforms. Even though the BD7 is now considered a vintage racing chassis in elite competition, it remains highly respected and still raced by enthusiasts in club-level and vintage-class races. Below shows a Yokomo BD7 with a Kyosho shell.
Legacy Frog on the track
If you were part of the RC scene in the early 1980s, the Tamiya Frog probably needs no introduction. Released in 1983, this 1/10-scale electric buggy quickly became a landmark model in off-road RC racing. It wasn’t just another toy—it was one of the first widely accessible RWD buggies, combining durability, performance, and that unmistakable […]
Tamtech Gear Frog GB01
The Tamiya GB-01 chassis is a compact, 1/10 scale off-road platform originally designed for the Tamiya TamTech-Gear series, most famously used in the TamTech-Gear Frog. Introduced in the mid-2000s, the GB-01 was Tamiya’s attempt to revive the spirit of classic RC buggies like the Frog, Hornet, and Grasshopper in a smaller, more modern and agile […]
Yokomo Dog Fighter 834B in action
Man, seeing the Dog Fighter 834B come back in a re-release is like stepping into a time machine. Back in the mid-80s, this buggy was the car to have if you were serious about racing. It was exotic, chain-driven, and just looked mean sitting on the grid. For a lot of us, it was the […]
Vintage Nikko Big Dictator RC conversion
Although intended as a mass-market RC rather than hobby-grade, the Big Dictator impresses with its fully proportional digital radio control, front and rear differentials, and functional suspension with shock absorbers—all uncommon for its time and price range . This combination of features set it apart from other toy-grade models and even rivalled entry-level hobby buggies. […]
