The Tamiya GB-01 chassis is a compact, 1/10 scale off-road platform originally designed for the Tamiya TamTech-Gear series, most famously used in the TamTech-Gear Frog. Introduced in the mid-2000s, the GB-01 was Tamiya’s attempt to revive the spirit of classic RC buggies like the Frog, Hornet, and Grasshopper in a smaller, more modern and agile package.
This little baby is insanely fast even without brushless. It uses a 370 class motor (much smaller than the Grasshopper 380). The original electronics are AM based, so you may want to use 2.4G instead.
The stock servo is not a standard size one. It is slightly smaller but is not as small as those for hobby robots. You can replace it with an even smaller servo but you will need to use hot glue to fill up any gap left.
It is advisable to use a motor heatsink, however to do so you must give up the rear bumper.
