LapMonitor is a wireless lap timing system designed specifically for RC (radio-controlled) car racing. It allows drivers to automatically track and record their lap times during practice sessions or competitive events. The system works by placing a small transponder on each car. As the car crosses the start/finish line, the transponder sends a signal to the LapMonitor base unit positioned trackside. This base unit detects each passing car and sends the timing data via Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet running the LapMonitor app.

Once connected, the app provides real-time updates, including lap counts, lap times, best and average lap statistics, and session duration. For added convenience, the system can also give voice feedback, announcing lap times audibly so drivers don’t need to look away from the track. Multiple cars can be tracked simultaneously, making LapMonitor suitable for small group racing or club events.

Because it’s battery-powered and compact, LapMonitor is ideal for both indoor and outdoor tracks and doesn’t require the large or expensive infrastructure that traditional loop-based timing systems need. It’s popular among hobbyists and amateur racers who want a reliable and easy-to-use solution for improving their racing performance and tracking progress over time.
