If you are going to do lots of off road racing on dirty tracks, go for a shaft driven 4WD. There is practically no perfect way to sufficiently seal a belt drive system unless the system was designed to be sealed from the ground up (the vintage PB Mini Mustang has a good chassis design which effectively protects the entire belt drive system. This kind of design can be rarely found nowadays).
