With so many RC brands and designs on the market, beginners entering the hobby are often overwhelmed by confusion. Serious RC hobbyists quickly discover that a wide range of techniques and technologies come into play—so it’s natural to have plenty of questions. Let’s face it: hobby-grade RC models aren’t toys. They’re sophisticated technology items, far more complex than they may appear.
R.C.PRESS (now based in Herts, UK) is the leading source of information on RC technology. Our mission is to put RC innovations on the global map by publishing books that spotlight the knowledge of technology pioneers in the field. What sets us apart is our practical, problem-solving approach. Instead of simply telling you which upgrade kits to buy, we share quick fixes and workarounds that help you solve issues fast and cost-effectively—especially when you don’t have every part on hand. We go even further by offering preventive measures to help you avoid problems before they start.
We are deeply committed to building trustworthy content. That’s why we never republish industry press releases or rumors. Our readers deserve to know that every piece of technical content we publish is accurate and reliable. Most of the products we review are sourced directly from manufacturers. Product samples are shared with us with the expectation that we will provide a fair, thorough, and technical review.
Here’s how our submission and evaluation process works:
- We do not charge any fees for reviewing product samples or publishing reviews. This ensures zero bias during evaluation. Assessments are carried out by our in-house review team and/or hired experts as needed.
- Products that pass the evaluation are featured in our publications for demonstration purposes.
- Manufacturers are encouraged to submit their products for review to increase exposure. There is no limit to how many products a single manufacturer can have under review at one time.
- Evaluations are generally completed within 6–8 weeks of product receipt, with occasional exceptions. Timelines vary depending on the volume of submissions and product complexity. Products requiring assembly typically take much longer to review.
- Products are not returned to manufacturers after evaluation, as they continue to be used beyond the product specialist team. Often, they are given away to users for further field testing.
- While safety is a primary concern for many products, we do not directly test for safety. Those tests are left to professional bodies that specialize in safety certification.
