A 2mm difference in dog bone shaft length…

The Kyosho Optima dog bone shaft is 68mm. What is going to happen if I fit in a 70mm replacement?

Even though I managed to fit it in, shock absorption movement of the arm became jagged and harsh. So I decided to remove a little bit of thickness on both ends of the 70mm shaft.

About 0.5mm of thickness had therefore been removed out of the shaft. Now it works just fine.

FYI a Kyosho 68mm shaft is 10 times the cost of a Mr. nobody 70mm replacement.
