Does it worth to restore or upgrade a vintage Taiyo RC buggy?

Remember the 80s where we had Taiyo, Nikko and Bandai producing RC buggies giving us endless hours of fun and enjoyment? After 30 plus years these RC cars are seriously aged. For them to run again a lot of things have to be fixed. And the electronics are likely dead already so you may as well turn them into real RC by using real RC car electronics on them.

The Taiyo cars are in fact highly upgradable. Their drive train is similar to that of the Tamiya Grasshopper and there are plenty of room for housing real RC electronics. The JetHopper in particular performs really well and is definitely a good choice for further upgrade.
