It takes time for brand new gears to mesh well. Therefore, don’t go full speed on a brand new car right from the start. Stick with the stock RS540 motor and run the car at 7.2V for a number of rounds so that the gears can have enough time to kinda “burn in”. Switch to a high performance motor only when you find everything running as smooth as expected.
