Vintage mechanical speed controller

A traditional mechanical speed controller (MSC) regulates the motor’s speed and thus control the car’s acceleration and deceleration. It typically includes a series of resistors. These resistors are used to vary the voltage and current delivered to the motor, thereby controlling its speed. A mechanical wiper arm moves across the resistor network to select different resistances. A standard RC servo motor is used to move the wiper arm. This servo is controlled by the receiver unit (via channel 2).
