A lot of the time the charger gets overheated due to a defective or weak cooling fan. The photos below show the replacement of a 12V 2mm fan inside a BOL charger. They are pretty much self explanatory:
You may need to solder the wire so to make use of the correct wire plug. And you may choose to mount the fan either inside or outside of the casing.
