Soldering directly to the battery cells is never a good idea. You should only solder to the welded tabs. Soldering to the cell button can destroy the nylon seal. You simply can’t get the cell button hot enough to get a good solder joint without compromising the integrity of the nylon seal ring.

And never attempt to solder Lipo yourself. Don’t take the risk!
