Slip is the result of a ball diff being too loose. Slipping can lead to power loss, which is for sure not desirable. How do you find out if your ball diff is too loose? Try to rotate the left wheel while holding down the diff case and the right wheel. A properly tuned ball diff should require that you use a certain amount of force for spinning the left wheel. If the left wheel can freely spin without a single bit of resistance, the ball diff is way too loose and you’ll need to have it tightened.
