RC Tech Tip Video: RC boat running on 775 motor

Ever wonder what is special about RC boat that runs on a 775 motor?

Usually when a boat has an overall length of 60 cm or more and that the drive system is a direct drive one, using a 775 motor would definitely make more sense. It gives way more horse power than a 550. See below, the black boat runs on a 775:

A 775 is physically larger and heavier. It requires water cooling for both the motor and the ESC unit. And it needs to run on something greater than 3 S. A 4 S is considered a modern day minimum. It usually drives a larger propeller. A larger propeller is much easier to break, especially when the water is shallow. Do consider to use a metal propeller to replace the stock plastic one. A plastic propeller is less heavy, but is also weaker in strength.
