When you use a third party pinion over 24T, there is a chance the stock gearbox cover will block part of the pinion making it very difficult to fit.
You will need to file away some of the plastic over there as shown in the photos:
If the pinion still doesn’t fit in properly, you will need to remove that section of the plastic altogether (don’t worry about the screw hole there, that screw is not structural anyway):
Also check the underside – you may also need to do some filing / sanding in there:
