Back in the 80s, frame buggies were extremely popular. That was when Nikko RC was still in the RC business, that it came up with the Dictator four wheel drive buggy which has a very unique design, particularly a drive train with two separate gearboxes powered by two separate motors.

A major problem with toy grade RC car like this one is that it uses an integrated circuit for everything, which performs poorly and is almost impossible to maintain and upgrade. By replacing the circuit board and the servo with something modern together with improved cooling, this car can become a real RC car with hobby grade performance. Things like modern radios, electronic speed controller and lipo battery can definitely give this car a fresh new life.

Do note that not everything is real RC compatible so you should expect to not be able to find ready made parts for your purpose.
