Small bumps like this one can kill your buggy in no time! Truggy may be better. But not buggy. And not rally for sure.

Techtip: TA01 VS TA02 – how to quickly tell the difference?
The 01 has the ESC power switch mounted on the left whilst the 02 has it on the right. Also, the 02 battery compartment is closed on the right side. Not so for 01. Keep in mind, not all parts are interchangeable between the two.
Custom modified buggy based on the Tamiya TA chassis
This beauty is a custom modified TA01 built by Mr. Pang Lee (photos taken in Jordan Valley Park, Hong Kong). The rear end looks like a 834B, and the rear transmission resembles that of the Bandai Madwolf. Video showing it running on grassland:
Fixing abs part fracture
ABS plastic such as those of the Tamiyas can have fracture upon impact. This is especially common on arms and linkage around the hole for the step screws where the edge distances are just too short. You can fix it before it is too late. First apply super glue onto the crack. Then, before the […]
Shock tower breakage
This kind of damage is very common among Tamiya cars. The shock tower is ABS and the hole is too close to the edge. Sadly, the tower cannot be separately replaced. You can “patch” the broken part using 3d printed patch part. Shock tower patch for Tamiya WT01 (front) When designing 3d printed parts for […]
TL01 based truck 4WD to FWD conversion
This TL01 based truck was converted to FWD simply by removing the rear dog bone shafts. The truck runs just fine. Very easy to control and the battery lasts longer as well.
TT02 quick and easy onroad to offroad conversion
To quickly convert TT02 onroad car to, say, a buggy, the easiest thing to do is to use wheel adapter extenders and fit the car with offroad tires. These photos are self explanatory. This version has a special 3d printed partition block added to the chassis to redistribute the location of the electronics and use […]
Tamiya TL01 based truck
The TL01 chassis features a bathtub-style frame made of durable plastic, which provides a good balance of strength and weight. The car has a four-wheel independent suspension system. The platform also has a gear differential and oil-filled dampers to ensure a smooth and consistent ride. When you fit a TL01 Stadium Raider with some larger […]
What is TT01/02 rally setup capable of?
Both TT01 and TT02 are available as rally cars. However, due to the short arms and relatively low ride heights, they aren’t really capable of riding through grasses and slopes. They are poor at jumping too. In fact, they are suited to running on pathway and land surface that are not flat nor smooth enough […]
How to tell the difference between TA01 and TA02?
The photos show a TA01. The 02 rear arms are swept backward. The 01 rear arms are not. Also, the 02 chassis has some rectangular openings at the bottom. The 01 chassis has no such openings.
