An RC car motor generates heat as it operates, and if the heat is not dissipated effectively, it can cause the motor to overheat and potentially fail. A heatsink is designed to absorb and dissipate the heat generated by the motor, keeping it at a safe operating temperature and improving its overall performance and lifespan.

Heatsinks for RC car motors are typically made of aluminum or copper, which are both good conductors of heat. They are designed to attach to the motor casing, and they feature a series of fins or ridges that increase the surface area of the heatsink, allowing more heat to be dissipated.

The Tamiya DF01 (Manta Ray…etc) chassis makes it quite difficult to mount a regular motor heatsink (the heatsink fins will get scratched on by the rear left lower arm.

To solve the problem you need to cut away 1/3 of the heatsink.

And you will need to use zip tie to secure it.
