RCPRESS techtip: ESC overheat protection

>> Tech Tip - Electronics , Tech Tips >> RCPRESS techtip: ESC overheat protection

Modern ESCs often come with overheat cutoff – if the temperature reaches a certain point it will just cut off power for several minutes.

Some body shells have an opening right at the front for better air circulation.

It is best that you have a portable fan handy to provide some cooling.

What temperature is considered high? Anything over 30 degree c can make it easy to trigger the overheat protection mechanism.
