Can you use a 550 motor on a 1/10 RC car?

People always wonder if a 550 will work on a standard RC car. In this video we have a Tamiya Hotshot equipped with a 7.4V 550 strong magnet motor. It is longer than a 540 but the Hotshot has enough room for it since there is nothing on the side that contains or covers the end cap. This motor gives much better torque without losing its top speed. It also produces way less heat than a 540. In my opinion it is a very good choice for offroad use.

The 550 motor that we use is a RK550PH-9017. The nominal voltage is 7.4V.
