In drift racing, drivers often &#8220;blip&#8221; the throttle quickly to maintain or control slides. If reverse is enabled, a fast throttle change from forward to neutral and back might accidentally trigger reverse. This can cause the car to suddenly jerk backward, ruining the drift and potentially damaging parts. Also, switching rapidly between forward and reverse stresses gears, differentials, and drive shafts. During high-RPM drifting, this sudden change in direction can snap plastic parts or strip gears.<\/p>\n<p>Do note that some ESCs allow a <strong data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1158\">&#8220;drag brake&#8221;<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1191\">&#8220;forward-only with brake&#8221;<\/strong> mode \u2014 useful for drifting.
